Band Council Registration Coordinator Employment opportunity:

We are looking to fill the position of Registration Coordinator at $435.00 per week. The program has been approved. Start date is on Monday, June 15, 2008.

Applicants must be EI eligible and aboriginal.

Duties include:

  1. Updating members documentation for federal registration under the Indian Act on the Qalipu founding list.
  2. Contacting members to facilitate updating of documemtation
  3. Visit elders in their homes and assist them in updating documentation
  4. Researching ancestry and documentation as required
  5. Maintain daily logs and report to Chief and Council
  6. Prepare final reports and conclude program

Successful applicant will be:

  1. required to have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle at all times.
  2. required to have office administration, or equivalent training and experience.
  3. required to have computer and software knowledge including Family tree maker, Microsoft word, excel, access, Adobe photoshop and others as required.
  4. required to be professional, respectful in dealing with members and the band council, respectful of Mi'kmaq traditions and practices; and have the ability to coordinate the band council registration requirements.
  5. required to be able to work alone and be dedicated and hardworking.
