Band Council Registration Coordinator Employment opportunity:
We are looking to fill the position of Registration Coordinator at $435.00 per week. The program has been approved. Start date is on Monday, June 15, 2008.
Applicants must be EI eligible and aboriginal.
Duties include:
- Updating members documentation for federal registration under the Indian Act on the Qalipu founding list.
- Contacting members to facilitate updating of documemtation
- Visit elders in their homes and assist them in updating documentation
- Researching ancestry and documentation as required
- Maintain daily logs and report to Chief and Council
- Prepare final reports and conclude program
Successful applicant will be:
- required to have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle at all times.
- required to have office administration, or equivalent training and experience.
- required to have computer and software knowledge including Family tree maker, Microsoft word, excel, access, Adobe photoshop and others as required.
- required to be professional, respectful in dealing with members and the band council, respectful of Mi'kmaq traditions and practices; and have the ability to coordinate the band council registration requirements.
- required to be able to work alone and be dedicated and hardworking.
